Here on the V-Diet forum, I see a lot of new T-Muscle members asking me questions in other people’s threads. These are easy for me to miss, plus they sorta hijack the other person’s Velocity Diet thread.

So, here’s a thread for those questions. Fire away.

Starting the V-Diet 12/15/08: Details and Questions

Hey, I am starting the V-Diet tomorrow and would like to clarify something before I dive in. My approach is going to involve one HSM per day (I want to eat with my family.) Is this sample non-training day seem legit?

SAMPLE NON TRAINING DAY (1450cal)

Shake 1 (2 scoops plus half serving of milled flax seeds) 255cal
Shake 2 (2 scoops) 210cal
Shake 3 (2 scoops plus half serving of milled flax seeds) 255cal
HSM (345 cal)
Shake 4 (2 scoops plus half serving of milled flax seeds) 255cal
Fish Oil (13 tablets) 130cal

Working Things Out

Hi,

I am 165lbs and stand at 5ft7 tall.
By my calculations I should consume 1300 cals on non workout days and 1500 on workout days.

Now if I need 1g protein for each lb I weigh I then need 165g protein from my casein shakes.

Do the rest of my cals come from healthy fat? I am not sure if I am working it out right??

Also how many times a day should I have Flaxseeds with my shakes?

What to Do AFTER the V-Diet?

im sort of in the post velocity diet phase. before i even knew about v-diet i followed my own hardcore diet with great results, but now its time to re-enter the world of normal eating. i'm a former fat boy and its easy for me to pack on fat, i'm 5'11", 185 and ~15%bf. so now, how do i cleanly put on muscle? my biggest concerns are:

1. how much carbs do i intake now?
2. do i nix the carbs for healthy fats?

and a host of others, but those are the primary concerns. before looking at velocity, i always thought high protein and moderate healthy carbs was the way to go. now im not so sure…

I Have a Few Questions about the V-Diet

I work a 2:30pm to 10:30pm shift and might workout either before or after.

1)If i do it after work I usually go to bed around 2-3 am so does that mean i should take Surge around bed time if i workout after work?

2) do you recommend mixing the shakes with smart water, because I read it keeps you hydrated?

3) how many times can you do the V-Diet in a 6 month to 12 month period and can you do it back to back? If not what is the wait period?

4)Is it okay if I use benefiber?

5) how long should I wait before going into the beast building program on T-Nation after this diet? Can I do the V-Diet before and after the beast building program?

6) How many low carb Metabolic Drive containers do you recommend because in one place I see 10, another 11m and one says 13. I plan on doing this program with my fiance so that might be double the supplements.

My V-Diet log w/pictures STARTING 12/15/09

My name is Jordan and I am a V-Dieter. There is no day but today. Throughout high school I was an overweight kid and once I started college I made the switch to a low carb lifestyle. I lost 50 lbs over that time and now I look good, but I want to look even better. I have decided that even though I keep a fairly clean diet and work hard in the gym, I need a drastic change to get cut.

The V-Diet will easily put me in a thousand calorie deficit from my previous diet/
I will be consuming 1440 cals on non training days and 1540 on training days with all carbs coming from flax seed and Surge.

My starting measurements are:
waist: 36in
chest: 40in
unflexed arm:14in
neck:15in

I will be doing a variation that Shug has mentioned though; eating one HSM per day with the alloted calories left from removing one shake. My TRAINING DAY:
shake1 with flax and 3fo
shake 2 with flax and 3f0
shake3 (.875 scoop) with flax and 3fo
shake4 with Surge
dinner
(.875 scoop) with flax and 3fo
